Geometry in motion
Commissioned for the magazine’s cities issue, Shadows of the City extends Soren’s Static Motion series: a study of New York from rooftops, fire escapes and pedestrian bridges, where the noise of the street resolves into pattern.
Photographed over three weeks in late autumn, when low sun stretches every shadow across the grid, the essay finds an unexpected stillness inside one of the most restless places on earth.
From the essay
“From far enough above, a city stops being a crowd and becomes a drawing. Every person is a line, every corner a decision.”
